Aunt Lizanne and cousin Kirsten

On their way to Seattle, Lizanne and baby Kirsten stopped here in SLC and so we went to meet them at the airport. It was so great to see them and to see the cousins side by side. Kirsten was bright eyed and Jack slept through most of it, but it was still really wonderful to be able to have them together.

We had a blast playing with Steve, Amy, Soren, and Lucy when they stayed with us yesterday. Jack had fun meeting his cousins and they really sweet with him. We miss them already but will get to see them soon.

Some more field trips

This past week we went to the Utah County Fair and to the Days of '47 parade downtown. Jack slept through both, but it was fun to get outside at any rate. The Days of '47 parade is a really big deal around here. People seriously camp on the side of the road to save a prime spot to watch it. The parade celebrates the pioneers coming to the Salt Lake Valley and so there were lots of people dressed up in period costumes and horses pulling things like the moving truck in the picture here. It is hard to tell but the other pictures is the BYU float. I thought they were brave to have a BYU float up in Salt Lake City since that is University of Utah territory. There were a mix of boos and cheers as it came down the street. Jack and I didn't stay for the whole parade because the heat started to climb back up to 100 but what we saw was fun.

Potter Mania!

Everyone at our house, including Jack it seems, has caught Harry Potter fever. Mary bought the 7th book this morning, and is going to be finished tonight, then its my turn. Jack may have to wait a little longer, though...

Jack for Heisman!

We found Jack sleeping in this crazy position, like the Heisman trophy. So we took a picture, and Christian worked his Photoshop magic, and voila!

Family Field Trip

We went to the little aquarium here in Sandy on Christian's day off. Jack slept through most of it but Christian and I got to touch some sting rays and see some pretty cool fish.

Happy Fourth of July

We got Jack a USA t-shirt with a plane in honor of his Uncle Byron, but Jack only got to wear it for an hour because he had his first major blowout! Here are some action shots from the changing. Jack is a mellow baby except for when we try to change his diaper. He hates it!

Some Good Awake Time

Jack is getting on somewhat of a schedule which is fantastic. He is having some good awake time during the day and so we have been able to catch him with his eyes open. He doesn't like smiling for the camera yet though!
