Watch Out World...Anna is on the Move!

Today was a big day for Anna. She started crawling this morning and has been getting faster and more daring as the day has gone on. Here is a little video that I got pretty soon after she started. I used my Fruit by the Foot wrapper as bait and she went for it. That is Jack banging on the table in the background.

Jack was very sweet and encouraging

Not too long after she started crawling, Anna pulled herself up on the couch for the first time as well. She then proceeded to side step down the couch which is a little scary. Crawling is one thing, but I am not ready for this baby to be walking! Hopefully crawling will satisfy her for a few more months.

It is crazy, but now that Anna is moving about, Jack looks so much bigger to me now. Man they grow fast!

Helpful Big Brother

I was feeding Anna dinner last night and I got up to get a paper towel. I turned around and found this:

Here is the action caught on video. Sorry it is a little back-lit and Jack is under dressed. I didn't want to miss the action by leaving to close the window or getting him a shirt!

This is how Anna looked afterwards...

Fun Pictures of Anna

We had a little photo shoot for Anna over at our friend Kattrina's this morning. I made Anna a tulle skirt and she got to wear her baby high heals from Grandma. If only she had enjoyed it as much as we did. She only lasted a few minutes but we got a couple of smiles and some good pouty model faces! Click here to see more cute shots over at Sassafrass Photography! Thanks so much Kattrina!

Oregon Coast Vacation!

We had an awesome time with everyone! This is the first in what will be a few more posts of the trip, once we get more pictures from everyone else's cameras. Enjoy!

Dave made a cool water bottle rocket. This is the first attempt to launch it.

The tide pools!

It was a windy day. I don't normally have hair that bad!!

Playing at the house

This crazy raccoon kept trying to come in and join the party. Jack thought he was pretty cool.

Two of Jack's favorite things: cake and candles!

Hanging out with the twins

Playing at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry

The torpedo room of the sub

Christian, John, and Dave got to go to a Portland Timbers soccer game. The fans got pretty crazy.

This kids loves pianos. He set these books up by himself and pretended to play.

Birthday / Father's Day Celebration

We had a great Father's Day / Mary's Birthday yesterday. Sorry you had to share it Mary, but I appreciated the breakfast in bed, and I hope you liked your birthday dinner. Mary gave me a great picture to put on my desk at work, thanks Christin for taking it. Now, if only we could get Anna to smile once in a while.

The Babies In Our Outfits

Some of you might remember that we dressed Jack in one of Christian's baby outfits. That is Christian on the left and Jack on the right. I think there is some good family resemblance there. Well we did the same with Anna when my Mom sent down one of my old dresses. We don't really look all that much alike in these baby shots but then again, I don't look much like my old baby picture anyway.

This is me

Anna was not really thrilled about his photo shoot. Couldn't really get her to smile but she makes a good serious baby model :)

Moab Bike Trip 2009

Well, I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of the bike trip I went on at the end of May. We rode the White Rim Trail, the same ride as last year with the same group of guys from work and had a blast. I won't post a ton of pictures because they look a lot like last year's, but we had a great time, and this year no one broke their collarbone! Yaay.

Here's a picture of a little bike project I've been working on. I've started taking the bus to work, and the bus stop is about 1.5 miles away from our house. I got tired of walking to it, so decided to get an old clunker that I could ride to the stop and load on the sketchy bike racks that the busses have. I found this sweet old road bike from DI for $20, and have cleaned it up, stripped off the derailleurs, cables and junk and replaced the handlebars, pedals, crank. I also recovered the old black seat with some matching white vinyl , and painted the white parts on the fork and rear chainstay. Now I just need a new rear wheel with a fixed gear to complete, but so far she works great! I've spent around $65 so far, which isn't bad.

Goofy Kids

Jack typically wears a pajama shirt to bed, but he only wanted the shorts on and then proceeded to get his hat and boots. We'll have to work on his fashion sense at some point!
